[deleted post]Irony is supposed to be stupid, or it wouldn't be irony. The obvious self-goal was intended as a comedic effect, to point out the silliness of the original comment, "Soon Nintendo only can find in Museum..".

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2018Completely agree. Nintendo switch flopped so hard, the whole company is at brink of bankruptcy.? Even with the Wii U commercially flopped but the games are mostly smash hits, Nintendo is still a profitable company even after all the flops. If they do, the company can still survive with just their cash till 2030 - 2050.
The Nintendo Switch is a truly convenient device and it deserves the 10 - 15 million sales it has. Nowadays, we gamers have jobs and we have no time to dedicate sitting in the couch to play. We need to play on the go. Nintendo had the right idea where you can play Console-level graphics on the go and once you're home, you can dock the device to be played on the TV.
I wish Nvidia would give Nintendo the latest Tegra chip (if Nvidia is still making one) on Nintendo's next hybrid console and a very capable Max-Q graphics chip on the dock in 4 years time. Sold at a $399 - $499 flagship price.
The two main problems are games and hardware as gsmarena points out. The big challenge with games is that mobiles just don't have the juice to compete with serious gaming systems because they run out of battery when playing a serious game. There's always a balancing game with hardware between the size and power of components (which takes space and heat) versus the demands of normal mobile phone users which is compact as possible designs and hardware designed with weight and usability in mind. In my mind you can solve the controls issue by having a good quality controller compatibility, gamers should be happy to carry a controller around if that alone can transform their gaming experience (and options) while maintaining an otherwise normal looking phone that can be used in regular circumstances and as business phones etc.
Nvidia and others can try and lure in as many devs as they want but another issue is that devs are a bit stretched at the moment. There are too many platforms whether it be VR, mobile, switch, xbox, playstation, pc and anything else. Ultimately we're at a point where devs are not able to prioritise pet projects and until there's some momentum and progress on phones being properly designed for games (hardware limitations of battery, mobile chips, controller support being universally used in games etc.) then there's not going to be a big change.

Misfile17, 23 Apr 2018If you think 15 million sales in under a year is a flop then you are extremely misguided, The exaggeration was a straight giveaway, that it was sarcasm.
Anonymous, 23 Apr 2018Your comment is great! I just disagree it shouldnt have physical buttons, cuz it would great b... moreWith much complaint about phones in many many different aspects. Does that really gonna be a good thing for a phone?
People complain about the size ( too big , too small, too tall, too much bezel etc).
And then people also complaint about the weight. Oh it's too big so it's too heavy.
So now, with people trash talk about mobile games ( games is games, it supposed to be entertained and joyful), and while those people who don't play a lot of mobile games ( or don't know how to find the good one).
All of sudden they wanted it a phone with hardware control?
As I already mentioned, you can't have a gaming phone and also wanted it to be a all around phone that with great of everything? That's just crazy!
Also again, every game is different, and some of them are actually easier to control with a simple touch.
Look, I understand the greatest of a hardware control like the one on console. But, since not every game is a shooting or a fighting games. It just doesn't work the same as console did………
Since phones are already on the usb c port.. They should have thunderbolt instead and can have a heavy-duty control with possible external power and an egpu taking care stuff, with an almost regular looking phone that can pass off in a board room meeting..
gaming phones are a joke, what kind of games can you play on such small screen? only dumb tetris like crap with lots of pay-for-win mechanics.

Definitely agree about hardware controls.
I feel like mobile gaming is continuing to advance, and we've had a lot of higher-quality titles of recent times.
FromChinaWithLove, 22 Apr 20181, I don't understand why do people who trash talk about mobile game even came here to comment... moreYour comment is great! I just disagree it shouldnt have physical buttons, cuz it would great benefit for emulators and remote gaming. Gaming on the cloud is the future, we can have a powerful PC/PS4 game in the phone with remote play, but touchscreen virtual buttons are horrible to play. Emulators run natively and is great with buttons. There are many uses for buttons, and developers dont need to adjust for each brand, the buttons could be remaped accordingly and devs would need just one simple profile (touch or buttons). Dont need to map different buttons config cuz the phones can have the software to remap.
FromChinaWithLove, 22 Apr 20181, I don't understand why do people who trash talk about mobile game even came here to comment... moreWhat makes a gaming phone, a gaming phone?
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play solved the problem I had it great phon,
https://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_play-3608.php
"Weekly poll results: for gaming phones to succeed, they need hardware controls" ... and better games.
1, I don't understand why do people who trash talk about mobile game even came here to comment for? If you hate it that much, why bother?
Some complaint about the graphics not looking good ( cause console and pc is better! Dude you're literally comparing a phone to a PC or a dedicated gaming console! There's something wrong with you already!)
For people who complaining about graphics in mobile games, I just wanted to say, remember how the early games are.
2, complaint about not having a hardware control ( and wanted a smartphone to have a hardware control and still be a all around smartphone that have great this, great that. That's just foolishness!
Mobile games isn't build in such way that the dev would have a specific phone in mind to create their games ( which mean they don't have to follow some rules like they should be for console or PC cause those games are created specifically with the console/pc in mind. While mobile games isn't cause it is all touch screen.)
So, having a hardware control is just not needed it ( look, even the black shark are pretty obviously at aiming for shooting games at this point as "Tencent" and their money hunger games are pretty popular in China, as well as other shooting games), which is also why you see they only make a controller with the joystick on the left.
Cause that pretty obvious what it for, and also the easiest to get it done, cause it is 99% for movements.
Look, there's no way that all OEM would build the gaming phone all in the same from factor, cause that's just not happening, I mean do you even need to look any further than Xbox and PS? I mean for people to trash talk about mobile while play their games on console or PC, you should have already understand, for console games they create the game with the console in mind, for PC games they probably have more freedom but a keyboard and mouse are still gonna be in mind when that game being make.
But for mobile games, who are they going to have it in mind when they create those games? Yours or mine?
Remember, ouya failed. That's a mobile game console right there.
