dladz, 20 Apr 2018Why on earth don't these supposed gaming phones have L + R shoulder buttons? Or even a flip... moreIt has L1 and L2 shoulder buttons and a joystick. Pretty ok design philosophy.

Or even a flip... moreI have to agree somewhat, most phones are capable of gaming and usually you would hope some sort of additional controls would be what allows more gameplay styles. Imagine if they allowed you to Bluetooth a game controller for real controls etc. My only problem with gaming phones is that they don't really differentiate themselves from others except for making sure the specs don't let you down in particular areas.
The only problem is this would come off as quite gimmicky unless someone like Samsung or Apple managed to pull it off and get a decent audience, something tells me xiaomi won't revolutionise the industry and get game creators to build games with the new controls in mind if they did add L + R buttons. Devs are simply targeting the majority of gamers and not the subset with dedicated gaming handsets (as even a gamer could do fine with other more popular phones).
personally i like it better that way... rather than shoving the buttons on ur phone, it just makes an accessory... i think its way better...the phone actually looks like a phone
Osiris, 20 Apr 2018Not even close to Razer phoneRazers loses to Red Magic in design, and loses the Black Shark in Specs, the fact that its already been months since Razers debut and they still haven't come up with any other devices, I guess their phones were just one-off, just like Essential?
It's unfair to compare last year's Razer Phone with this. I bet you that the Razer Phone 2 is going to blow this away. Wait and watch.
But there's only a few playable games on android tbh >.< and they don't need a gaming phone really! I think an iPhone would be much better for games! and it even has bioshock
Osiris, 20 Apr 2018Not even close to Razer phoneYou're right. The Razer phone has older and weaker CPU and GPU, it's a generation behing the Blackshark. The Razer phone only comes with maximum 64GB internal storage, while the Blackshark comes with 128GB - twice as much. Blackshark also boasts a bigger screen, bluetooth 5.0 lower weight and despite all of the benefits over the older and weaker Razer phone, the Blackshark is also much more affordable. What a great buy indeed!
Osiris, 20 Apr 2018Not even close to Razer phoneIf you a look in processor power than you're right. 845 is better than 835, also in Adreno graphics
Why on earth don't these supposed gaming phones have L + R shoulder buttons?
Or even a flip out pad?
Does research and development actually believe that this is anything other than a normal phone with a Razer esq design?
Wake up.
cue the naysayers moaning as usual
Imperator Neubaticus, 20 Apr 2018Probably a better buy than say the red magic or razer phone. Not even close to Razer phone
