AnonD-706449, 21 Jan 2018Sony have had always fast and stable updates, this scenario is only abut the Oreo update. But ... moreWas galaxy heavy user, from note to young for call, but battery and software made me leave.
Sony and motorola good alternative
i'm in south africa, and i have the 8+ and i'm also on the november update only.
So no oreo update for s8 or Note 8 soon. For hight end phones this is not acceptable. I love my note 8 - but pathetic software update makes me think about other option.
[deleted post]Sony have had always fast and stable updates, this scenario is only abut the Oreo update. But honestly Samsung is way too lazy and slow in updates. Almost all other brands rolled out Oreo update for their flagships except Samsung and it is annoying and sad. As I said i expect fastest updates from Samsung since they are least of the market at the moment but unfortunately Samsung is the laziest in this case.
Now it overheats!
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2018I must be the only one who doesn't like their feature rich software. I prefer mine bone stocked hmm nice but where's my Samsung S7 updates ? still sitting on October 2017 security updates here !
A week back my Galaxy A2 Pro 2017 got the January security patch already before these flagships.
im still on november.. shame on u samsung
Samsung produce awesome phones and features but extremely slow in updates, it is unbelievable annoying . i did switch to Google Pixel just because Samsung is too lazy when it's about updates. Btw. Touchwiz has awesome features but really slow and sloppy .

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2018Come Samsung what about the S7?? It's been stuck on 7.0 for ages and it has a very buggy firmwareI own an S7 and find it stable plus smooth. What bugs you referring to? It's on December security patch too so I am not sure what the complain is.

AnonD-558092, 20 Jan 2018This is diffrent, and the Smasung experience implementation over Nougat is much more powerful... moreSamsung version of the Oreo will be better even than Android P... and probably even the one behind the P...
Boebus666, 20 Jan 2018I own an S8 [Exynos] and frankly don't care when the update comes out... I prefer it to be as ... moreI also have Exynos version of S8 and I couldn't agree more.
And Samsung is ahead of everyone else in terms of features anyways, so I really don't care about getting O or P as soon as possible. Samsung is pretty much in league of it's own, and whoever has some knowledge about Samsung phones will know that.

date doesn't matter to support longevity, 2 major OS versions is what promised if i remember correctly.
Got update on J7 pro in India. Bokeh mode in selfie, but not effective, it blurs the edges of face and few mm hairs. I believe some RAM optimization for few apps as Gallery, Clock, need lesser redraws. And of December 1 Security.
Sony Xperia Fan, 20 Jan 2018They now have the features that others are just about to get with the next Android version, as... moreThis is diffrent, and the Smasung experience implementation over Nougat is much more powerful. Tons of apps supported split screen before N, and for Touchwiz since JellyBean. JELLYBEAN 4.1!!!!!
But the Samsung Experience version lets you resize freely the apps like on Windows, unlike on stock.
Updates are overrated.
And still NO Oreo!
Ummm, what's the point of paying 1000 euro for a phone that never gets updated in time?? Even those china replika brands are ahead of sammy.
That's why I went with Sony XZ Premium. Sony's ENTIRE line has been updated to Oreo for months now. They even have phones with oreo out of the box.
By the time sammy will roll out oreo, sony and others will be rolling out android P :))
The Shamesung name fits better than a glove.
