I own a Oneplus 5 and am looking at these results Vs the mate 10 pro because that's what I'm getting soon and although it shows the Oneplus 5 is higher I just remind myself that Oneplus cheat benchmarks

If The G-72 as 40% bump and more power than G-71 in the same conditions ... moreExynos 8895 has 20 cores, Kirin 970 has only 12 cores even though it's Mali g72. Snapdragon uses different gpu which is provided by AMD, it's called Adreno. So Kirin will fall behind as always when sd845 or next generation of exynos will get released, you will have outdated SoC whole 2018. Moreover, Kirin 970 based on cortex a73 and cortex 53(which was released in 2012), while upcoming SoCs will be based on cortex a75 and cortex a55. Kirin has npu, that's it, there is nothing outstanding about Kirin 970.

I've seen countless youtube videos in which phones with x times more powerful CPU get wrecked by other phones in opening / switching apps .
The newest Iphone seems slower than note 8 for example , even though it shouldn't according to the huge CPU score .

And Snapdragon 845 GPU will not be better. Even that i don't know, Kirin 970 with the AI capabilities, i don't know if will not be equal.

If The G-72 as 40% bump and more power than G-71 in the same conditions at the maximum frequency, why the Kirin 970 GPU can't have better performance than the Exynos 8895 GPU? The benchmarks as for the CPU as for the GPU aren't well optimized and the version of Huawe Mate 10 here used is a pre production unit, need refinements as in hardware as in software. Soon you will find out, you will see if what i say isn't true.

Mp12 GPU beating the mp20 GPU of Exynos. More GPU cores = more battery usage as well. So kirin is battery efficient, powerful flagship level, and as is well known the OS optimization and new NPU will once again beat the Apple and Samsung in real world usage.
Huawei during their presentation has already shown example of how its NPU helps power the CPU and GPU and beats the iPhone 8plus (by small margin though) and Samsung (by huge margin).

This year they managed to match, almost by performance on both fronts, but in couple of months it will be, as you said, wiped out with new exynos probably g72mp20 or better, and 845 by miles for sure
