Either way I like to stick with reliability so even though Transcend may not manufacture the card I will still stick to them. Also, you rarely find every manufacturers manufacturing everything they use, for example Samsung, Nokia and others don't usually manufacture the batteries used in their devices but they still re-brand them with their respective names.
I came across a person or two who had issues with brand new (or fairly new) Sandisk Micro-SD cards so quality assurance on a wide scale may be an issue. Personally I don't like Kingston, I have had bad experiences with their memory cards dating back to MMC days. Transcend, A-Data and Dane-Elec have worked out well for me. Sure, they may not be the biggest brand names but reliability is the ONLY thing I'm concerned about.
Make it £32 and I might be interested.

Jiaelec corporation makes micro SD cards for them. They just rebrand and sell it. SanDisk is other story they make their own micro SD cards. So Transcend can't compete with SanDisk.
Anonymous, 01 Sep 2017"tempting price of £224.99" sorry but I'm not tempted by that price at all. The price will go down after some time. Plus, it's 400GB in a tiny form factor so its not a surprise
"tempting price of £224.99" sorry but I'm not tempted by that price at all.
I'm very happy with this news.... Finally, looks like 128GB card will go cheaper!! :)
Nothing else of interest though.
DXyuyu, 31 Aug 2017I wonder why 200 and 400
Why not going straight to 256 and 512
I mean 256 is done after... moreDie size restriction. To have more storage, you need
1- Smaller transistors (same die size)
OR
2- Bigger die.
The 1st choice is problematic since it's more expensive. You need a smaller fab size too, and fab size decrease fairly slowly in the NAND market (non-enterprise). The second choice is also a problem because you'll need a new standard or use bigger cards (SDXC cards are capable of 2TB, the max prototype is a 1TB full-size SD card, and phones do not support that).
Right now, they only could cram 3.2 Trillion transistors in such a small space. But 256GB cards do exist for at least a year from now.
well..thats a great news.. i can buy 128 gigs sandisk card for cheaper price.. :-P
Thats what you get for not having sd slot and small memory. Well, not that 512GB users have to care. How nice.
their portable storage is dumb and rip-off. it's basically a card reader and a USB hub. a user might as well go with an OTG USB drive or card reader which is smaller and cheaper.
why not make it Wi-Fi and with a built-in battery? people will pay more for that capability.
What's the point of tb storage on a goddam fone
perfect for the switch

It's still working like a charm after all these years.

I mean 256 is done after the 200 but in the memory world this seems a little bit confusing

Overkill. Apple is going big on storage too.
