Much of the UI is gpu dependent, and Exynos starts to lag all too soon once the phone gets a little old and apps are updated to newer versions. It'll happen, trust me. It's all about support, even if you wish to ignore benchmarks. And since snapdragon is used on almost every android flagship, most games will be optimized for snapdragon devices. So don't be blinded by Samsung propaganda.
AnonD-672407, 30 Jul 2017Galaxy S4 wasn't exactly an octa core. Only 4 of those cores could run at a time. What made th... more3dmark uses some insane performance clogging benchmarks with unnecessary physics engines, mobile games don't use those things, so by other benchmarks exynos 8895 Mali g-71 destroy competition even sd835 adreno 540, g71 it is more optimized for mobile graphics tasks, adreno all the time chasing floating point performance which leads to nowhere. Usually it makes thermal throttling consistent and kills performance in long usage, especially you could notice that with sd810
I still have Xperia play with Qualcomm S2 single core 1ghz CPU, it was my first android phone, with cyanogen mod 9 help I managed to overclock it to 1.6 Ghz and it killed competition, it destroyed nexus 7 2012 tegra quad 1.3ghz on single thread by double on geekbench 3 :) and Was not too far behind on multicore :) few cores with high frequencies is best performers(apple knows that) :)
Christian, 31 Jul 2017Hehe I also keept my PC with AMD athlonXP 2800 'Burton'. :) I need to check the bios, but I t... moreCool! Does it have XP or 9x?
The RAZR i was my favorite phone at the time. That design was almost perfect.
No mention of dual core on Nokia's Nseries? Boo~ The N80 had dual core arm processor long before android even existed.. Nokia has long harnessed the power of dual core.. They just didn't make a noise about it back then.. Here is a list of Nokia's with dual core arm processor:
N80, N82, E60, E61i, E65, E70, N71, N73, N75, N77, N91, N92, N93, N93i, N95, N95 8GB, N96
Nokia is always ahead of everybody's time.. Bonu
It would've made mode sense if they had something like dual core battery rather than Multi core chipsets. Today even budget quad cores offer decent performance for basic and multimedia tasks.
Anonymous, 31 Jul 2017I wonder if battery core have increased so they can cope up with this battery draining cpu's5 battery cores to take care of screen..
2 battery cores to take care of cpu..
1 core for the camera..
Each battery core have 1 micro usb slot. so you can charge all battery cores with 8 micro-usb cables, 8x the speed of charging.
Anyway GPU more cores better.. CPU not really need that much for the mobile chipsets... not much apps need it.. but more cores on gpu help gaming..
I wonder if battery core have increased so they can cope up with this battery draining cpu's
Growing battery next, as fast chip useless without good battery. Good job gsmarena
now there's Deca-core, which is a ten core chipset
Keep pushing it until it reaches the limit
At least 4 cores - 2GB ram - 16GB storage required for smooth operation.
mac pro use already 24 cores... smartphones are behind
It is a balance between clock speed and core count. Cores that is fast enough to quickly deal with intensive task.. and cores power efficient enough to deal with small task.
Too much cores, then the core strength suffers.. too much clock speed battery and heat is a concern.
But the most important is the OS. If the OS is unoptimised for the hardware.. no matter how good, its still trashed.
Therefore, i do not look at core count. Just concentrate on benchmarks and real life performance.

I need to check the bios, but I think real frequency was around 1.8GHz before I OC'ed it :)))

P.S. I feel old now :(
Apple Iphone only got 1080p screen its obviously scoor Higher than 2k 4 K Screen even novice gamer with Nvdia 1030 knew this fact lol
