It's been done before and better, and frankly no one really looks at their notifications all that often without actually needing to use their phone immediately after. This is precisely the reason why smartwatches aren't the blockbuster tech people thought they would be; Why look at your watch when you know you're going to need your full phone functionality anyway?
I remember that Apple copy front display MX4 to iPhone 6 and Meizu Pro 6 antenna line style at iPhone 7.
select "all brands" look for "YOTA" phones
Thats really awfully placed
That's so cool! I kind of wanted that feature with a second low battery impact second screen for a long time.
The innovation in the future is turning the phone on the other to get Notification!
the future is now!

I can totally see Apple stealing this for the 2018 iPhone, something like a notification bar somewhere next to the pair of cameras on the back. And I hope so because this is a great idea and meizu somehow managed to make it awful and ugly.
Oh my Willy Wonka, the second screen is in a very awkward position, why stick on a single screen or rather follow (iyota) I mean Yota Phone 2? since phone design now a days a purely rip-offs. they made a phone with 2 screen way back 2014.
I can understand the need for differentiation, but it just doesn't make any sense, unless it consumes almost no power. The LG (with TFT) or Samsung (with AMOLED) approach with Always-On Display on the main screen is just much better.
The design makes me crap on my pants.
Only Meizu can use a secondary display in a phone and still make the phone look generic as hell.
weird and annoying placement, like they would not have any sense of symmetric and style.
Because why not put it in top, as long edge-to-edge display, totally black to cover camera holes. it would look amazing!
But here we have literally just... ugly sticker that someone forgot to take of after taking phone from box.
