But they still side on my argument. All three of them. Want more proof? I can't seem to post links here (post will be approved by mod) but if you think of yourself as a smart person, search it on youtube and you'll find it. It's a manual speed test of S8+ (SD835, 4GB RAM) and OnePlus 3T (SD821, 6GB RAM). Guess what phone trailed behind albeit with all that RAM you oh so bragged about being more important than a phone's processor AND an almost (again, almost) stock android against lagwiz. There's proof aplenty. Benchmarks, videos etc. You can argue all you want about how 1+1=3 but in the end, it's wrong.

You said SD821, I told you it doesn't matter because of having far more caching. You insulted me , then I proved you to be the insult you used for me giving you both an explanation and sources. You keep on insulting thinking that it makes you big, you're actually very small.
For every evidence I gave you , you gave me insults back. If someone is reading knows who won, check mate indeed.
BTW becnhmarks measure peak performance. Almost never do you use peak performance on phones. They're almost completely useless on phones, that's no way to measure performance on IO heavy machines. They are a throwback to the past, back when computers were cpu starved. Well, they ain't anymore. Benchmarks only give a tiny picture, only good benchmarks for phones are IO benchmarks but very few review sites are running them. High IO phones are also most of always faster than those with low nand speeds.

It's impossible to win an argument with doltish people. Not even a window user. Linux/MAC and android user here. Check mate already right there. Your first logic was more RAM = faster machine. What I just said in my first post was just "SD 821.. hehehe". I never said anything. Then you went on and on about how RAM is important and shi*. By that in itself, you're more obsessed with the logic of more RAM with a weak processor is better than a strong processor with less amount of RAM because how a machine manages it's processing applications/programs. I don't believe benchmarks are accurate but even 3 of them (antutu, neocore, linpack) favored the S8+ over asus zenfone AR. And I own the zefone 2 deluxe and hate samsung. Checkmate #2 right there.

You probably didn't read it, so I reposted my answer again in this very boards. Read it this time and consider yourself more educated after doing so.
I'm using Linux machines for the last 20 years ... And it's definitely the case that more ram on Linux machines makes them feel smoother after a while. That's *not* the case on Windows that most people use because Windows is not a very good OS, just a popular one with legacy support. It does waste a lot of resources left and right (although they did add some form of ram caching since late00s, but it's still very partial)
AnonD-456831, 30 May 2017Never said I was a Windows user. Processor > RAM. Of course more RAM means the machine is m... moreLike I said, you're a windows user because you keep bring up x86 examples. No! The i3 PC would be slower because Windows has atrocious Ram management.
In Linux it would be a wash, prooobably the 16GB version would look faster after a while, yes, many imstanmces where a high ram computer performed noticeable better on Linux.
Phones are even more particular as they're not process heavy. That is to say that they rarely reach peak performance on their CPU. You can check that by having CPU stats running at all times. Unlike a PC , a phone has very few situations where peak performance is needed. So a PC does things like encoding, compiling, heavy gaming, photo processing, edit giant excel files ... And that's only some of the uses that most do on a pc,. Those are all process heavy, so obviously a faster processor matters!
Phones do a lot less of it. Think about it! Only gaming is a relatively heavy occupation of phones that is popular and even then it does not happen too frequently at its highest capacity (high end gaming is rare onm android , it's mostly casual games all over).
I mean think about it. What people mostly do on phones is loading assets in and out of ram . Going from screen to screen (form to form) by pushing buttons. Obviously the phone that will have many parts of those new "screens" preloaded would feel faster.
To this day the fastest android I have used is OnePlus 3T. Faster than Pixel XL despite not using stock android. Faster than any 6GB China phone because it is not as aggressive w ram management. Faster than any SD835 phone (as they are all 4GB phones).
Obviously big ram and good ram management gives a better *overall* feeling on *phones*. It makes sense, basically they have 100 times the IO transfers w more ram / better management, and that's huge on the long run. Going away from 3T was the same feeling as when I went away from my 5s .. A reintroduction into a slow world.
IPhone does this feeling with relatively little ram but absolutely stringent ram control. Android does it with high ram + a good ram control. No two ways about. If your phone has low ram it would *always* feel slower after a while, a fate that big ram, well managed phones do not...
Check mate

Of course more RAM means the machine is more powerful compared to machines with less RAM but by your logic, corei3 with 16GB of RAM is faster than core i9 with 12GB of RAM which, ask anybody, is just plain false just because it has more RAM. You're embarrassing yourself.

[deleted post]CPU barely makes any difference at this point 99% of the time it is not even maxed.
Phones are IO heavy not process heavy. Fast CPU + low ram always slower experience than median CPU + high ram . Always!
Keep chasing those Antutu scores fanboy.

That's why your phones are ultra slow, you keep buying phones with low ram that loads things from storage. By the time you have entered your app another has dones 10 things on it already, not to talk of restepping where you were last on it.
Not only that but app processes are faster too, for example screens are preloaded , so you press OK , or in general go to a next screen a lot of the assets (apart from the new ones) are preloaded.
Everything is ultra fast when running on a ram disk. Heck even windows is fast when running on a ramdisk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab1V6XjmLgo
...basically no load times ... you've been punked!

Do you know in the old days RAM is not really used since the STORAGE can be used for Caching Albeit Slower loading but once loaded CPU does everything Calculating to even Graphics if there is no Dedicated Graphics Card.
Your still and idiot thinking RAM is top priority!!!!
So much good product....i will buy
Anonymous, 30 May 2017Well their idiots thinking RAM makes phones/pc/laptops make them faster lol.Don't you read? I wrote ram caching, not ram the hardware piece!
On windows more ram is useless, on Linux it's used for caching. Every time you open an application its assets are cached in memory. If your phone is low in memory they get booted shortly thereafter, if you have 8Gigs they are only booted if they cause battery leaks.
The next time you open an app, any app is recalled from memory. That's 100 times faster than nand.
Ram caching is one of the primary reason why the iPhone experience is so smooth , the reason why OnePlus 3T feels smoother.
If you want a fast phone first you have to look to RAM/RAM management, second the IO speeds and only thridly the SoC/CPU speed.
Consider yourself educated from here on and let me not see you again making the mistake of talking of things you don't get. Next time it's ban hammer time.
Basically, good to know that finally there's a time frame of when we'll see it in a real life action.
