this is an appalling device to release in 2017.
it has to come subsidized with amazon ads to make it even worth buying when a fingerprint scanning 64+ 4gb one x2 can be had for $10 more

Well, considering price to performance, it's not too bad, but mostly for the US customers. Because for abroad, then you have to add another $50 for shipping, handling and import fees, etc. So, then it will become so&so ... But not completely bad, neither.

Only Android 6.0? I just looked at this phone on Amazon. Everything looks good including the price, but 6.0 is an instant fail, as this will probably never get updated.

price aggressive and affordable

At this price I'd go with the Nextbit Robin which has a much better processor. It's battery is pretty good too, just not as good as the blu. Still... Nextbit is much better.
