fizzy, 20 Apr 2017LG are the leading manufacture of OLED panels .and thay supply OLED displays for other brand s... moreIt has been a lot more profitable for LG Display to market their Amoled technology on big screen tvs etc, the markup / profit margin on these big screen is a lot more given that its a more expensive technology. Seeing how LG mobile has been doing badly with the G4 and G5 it would have been disastrous for the LG Display division to divert its limited Amoleds to non profitable LG Mobile division (LG Mobile incurred serious losses for LG in the past year yet the company still made a profit due to its other electronics and appliances). Please note that a screen alone is not enough to sell a phone so LG mobile has to step up their game. Its even more profitable for LG Display to sell screens to Apple, Xaomi etc as these phones may most likely sell better the LGs own mobile devices.
But I guess after the G6 their is once again hope for LG mobile so LG Display probably finally thinks it worth it to invest their high demand Amoled displays in the division.

AMOLED is brighter, has better color accuracy, has infinite contrast ratio, is much more energy efficient, is thinner and is flexible. IPS is good technology. AMOLED is better technology.

Guess we all have our own preference.

And lcd has zero issues and all batches are perfect having no issues at all.
