surely a full frame mirrorless such as a7 ii has significant advantages and much better quality than this dx/aps-c sensor nikon, it also appears to be similar priced as well

In addition, you get bang for your buck video capabilities. People are also divided over their EVF
But they don't offer some options pro photographers need:
Low battery life: could be annoying
Autofocus at night
Lens selection: This could be solved with adapters but then again it makes it more cumbersome and you lose AF.

The d500 has low noise at high ISO compared to d750 which is a full frame camera

viveksubhash, 12 Apr 2017Can somebody who knows about cams please tell me why those mirrorless cams are not getting all... moreOne thing is due to relatively lack of options in lens kit(fast prime lenses and constant aperture zooms) compared to a DSLR. You can just buy mid-range DSLR body and use better lens to produce great results. And the other thing is only the body of mirrorless is slim and when you add lens kit to it, well it almost equal sized to a DSLR, which defeats the purpose of buying a mirrorless which is just to buy a compact alternative to a bulky DSLR. Future may hold something else, as mirrorless cams are also gaining ground in lens kit. Sony has been steadily providing more and more lens kit. DSLRs have many fast prime lenses and constant aperture zooms but mirrorless lag in these. But image quality wise they do match DSLRs. As far as i know and heard these are the things that differ between DSLRs and mirrorless.

Personally I personally prefer the mirror-less cameras because they are smaller/compact and can shoot more images per second.That's what I know,I'm not a photographer,just a hobbyist.
