You only lose water resistance which is irrelevant to many (and G5 is already splash proof).
Also G5 is uglier but if you wear a case to your phone (as most do) doesn't show.
So -yeah- buy G5
This gen from LG reminds me what happened between Note 4 and Note 5, when even during Note 5's release, Note 4 (Exynos) was clearly the better option.

They're doing all these promotions now because they know it's critcal to get as many people signed-up or otherwise committed to the G6 before the S8 is launched because when that happens its going to be dust and tumbleweeds in LG-Land until the V30.

Wait 3 months, the price will probably be $100 lower at a minimum.
