i can tell you HDR is a real deal, not just initials to sell tvs. I just got an lg 60 uh 6150 tv with HDR. It luckily supports both Dolby and hdr10 luckily. Watch cuts from Marco Polo on Netflix and tell me HDR isn't a thing. I'm not assfilleated with any of the above mentioned. I just appreciate the real deal and HDR is. If some people have a problem with that, they probably don't have good tvvvvvsssss
Its most overrated technology Iv seen.
Its nothing more but replacement for unsuccessful 3D TV. Its just another way to sell more TVs, nothing more.
Its contain so many bul##it that I have no idea how people catch that bait. Because after checking few TV that have HDR10 in shops and in friends rooms I can say that you literally can get the same effect if you bump contrast and colors of your movie... Im not kidding, its just make everything over brighter and with unreal colors.
And actually its not about Hardware! Its all about preparing video it self, its just have metadata in file that turn that bumped colors if it detect device with support of HDR10.
Also as description of this technology say, you can modify existing content to look like HDR, its all about precise modifying contrast and gamma of part of the images in movie.... thats it...
The original programming sucks? What about hd streaming via mobile netflix on carrier networks?
actually I enjoy watching it on tv and 4k res on mobile really doesn't really matter for just a small screen
