I'd make a mod that adds a 3.5mm jack. And expands the CPU prowess with ANOTHET sd820 that is implemented it. Stacking to 8 cores and two Adreno 530, 8 GB ram and 64/128 GB. And 2000 mAh bonus.

AnonD-538000, 11 Feb 2017Well if it comes into existence, they'll surely make it practically useful.There are plenty of those devices out there already. Called a solar charger power bank, where you have an external battery and a solar charger slapped to the back of it. The reviews about the solar panel's capabilities are universal - it doesn't work most of the time, and when it does, it barely works. So if you really need a solar panel, why not buy a 20w foldable panel, with a 5v USB built in? When folded, It's the size of an 8" tablet, and the thickness of two tablets stacked on top of each other. With that kind of power, you can charge two smartphones in parallel, even on a not particularly sunny day. And if that's not enough, you can find 40w and 60w models as well. They're the size of a 10" tablet, when folded.

I'm surprised nobody thought of shoving a 1" Exmor RS into a mod. Now that kind of mod i'd buy for sure! Heck, name it Zeiss for all I care. The current hasselblad mod is worse than a built in camera, at the same focal length.

If that passes through, I'm going to ask ... moreThat size solar charger would put out about 1W of power on a very sunny day, in a direct sunlight, at 90 degrees angle of incidence. Now a 3 amp phone battery is about 3.6V*3A=10.8W. This means that you'd need 11 hours of a direct sunlight, and keeping the angle right at all times, in order to charge the phone. In regular outdoor conditions it might take 3 days to charge it. Indoors, it's not even going to be enough to charge the battery for extra 30 minutes of usage, per day.
This mod is as useless as it gets!

That solar battery charging mod sure looks tempting! If that passes through, I'm going to ask for a permanent promotion where the thin Moto Z will come with a free solar charger. This will compensate for the poor battery, and by far.

Motorola : Going in great lengths to make a phone modular offering a handful of add-ons eventually, except of the one that would impact the longevity of the phone (battery).
Because why make a component that may extend the life (and thus lower the future sales) of a phone removable?

These finalists prove that the MotoMods are already more thriving (probably because of their better implementation) than the LG G5's confounded "Friends" attempt, which couldn't garner more developers (or further interest, for that matter).
