You know detail how much every single Xiaomi phone sold? Mi5 how much, redmi 3 how much, Redmi note 3 how much and so?
If they make just 3 phone, sure they will collapse because just 3 option which sale or not. Now they trow 6-7 model with different classes and not to compete each other but to float the market share, than people who want Xiaomi just choose what they want and profit still in xiaomi pocket. That is how samsung get bigger for the first time and Xiaomi do it great in 2015 but not so great in 2016. But their plan work for sure.
Normal people will happy if they have many options but what say you bro.

Apple make just 1 model and they are now no.1, Samsung make over 10 and they are no.2, but were no.1 last year. It's about supply and demand, and then put into the mix the battery fiasco that was the Note 7, and that makes Apple No.1. Apple know how to market a phone.

2. on gb3, 650 used to pull 3.5k - 4k anyways, its the gb4 update that drastically changed results, performance deffo didnt change
3. where did you get your data on 650/652? my results running N on RN3Pro are pretty consistant with those on M

In Nougat, there are device that have performance increase but not significant. Also there are device that have issue with power consume, so far so good lah

We can observe an interesting phenomenon: all qualcomm-powered-phone has a big increase of scores with Nougat.
Then we need to think.
Has the score really increased because of the increase of performance ?
snapdragon650 and 652 were around 2800~3000 in multicore.
But in Nougat, their score are around 4500~4700 .
Think carefully before criticizing the score of some SoCs .
