Futuristic Guy, 17 Nov 2016Qualcomm should also focus on their midrange 650/652/653 breed of chipsets and give the future... moreThat would be best. Snapdragon 650/652/653 are awesome breed of midrange beasts and sadly the latest SD 653 is also built on an old 28nm process like the SD 650 and SD 652. I am sad that I can't change the LTE band manually on my Snapdragon 650 Redmi Note 3.. Qualcomm should come up with an app like MTK Engineering Tools for Snapdragon powered phones..

Samsung is doing pretty well in semiconductor department. Last month 16Gb chips were announced and now this. Which means you can have a 10nm processor and 8GB RAM in a phone by mid-2017!

I think mobile tech will move slightly slowly after that because 7nm process will go into commercial production only in late-2019 and early-2020 at the earliest. So it will be a good time to upgrade your phones next year.

They have been promising 30% this 50% that for years now and battery still lasts a day most of the time when you make a phone that lasts at least a week then tell me

          Julliard, 17 Nov 2016That would be 653.Wrong....
653 is just a slightly tweaked version of 652 that is still built on the 28nm node. I am talking about a 652 successor that shrinks the die size to 14nm.

AnonD-596087, 17 Nov 2016If only they would release an updated 652 on 14nm node and boost the clock speed...That would be 653.

835 will still be much slower than Apple's A10 Fusion chip. Just admit it. (Android fan)

Qualcomm should also focus on their midrange 650/652/653 breed of chipsets and give the future ones the 14nm treatment which would ensure powerful processing along with being power efficient. It's sad that SD 653 is built on a 28nm process. Also Qualcomm should come up with some app like the MTK Engineering Tools for phones having MediaTek processors so we can change LTE bands manually in Snapdragon powered phones. (:

So QC 4.0 is their response to Google limiting the fast charge support in future releases of Android.
