People say I don t know If BlackBerry added anything to Android.. Well how many have are still vulnerable to stagefright? My friends Moto Nexux6 is still unpatched and vulnerable to stagefright.. Now if you use your phone for important things like WORK that s totally UNacceptable.

It has jumped into the larger Android pool, and has to compete with other Android device.
My point is the PRIV is a premium device but I don't know if BlackBerry has added anything that is unique to BlackBerry in the Android pool.
This is just another Android device, this offers nothing to those who want BlackBerry OS.
Apple made one of the best commercial decision in releasing the iPhone SE to cater to those people who simply wanted a 4 inch display
Android offers nothing to those who need BlackBerry, Blackberry need to offer a Blackberry device e.g a Blackberry OS version of the PRIV!
This caters for BlackBerry.
Android devices dominate the market so BlackBerry bring nothing new to the Android market
Blackberry OS is not infected with virus which necessitate the monthly security update Android devices needs
So I like all others using BlackBerry OS zero nil. Security updates
BB still didn't understand how market works....
if they want to sell BB android against another android phone, 1st they must do this.
1)using latest SoC. for example sd625
2)using same camera as it competitor 16mp behind, 8 mp front
3)bigger battery atleast 3000mah
4)bigger storage for an example 64GB
5)latest android
6)price is same as competitor.
Anonymous, 22 Jul 2016Even Apple does not make their own devices .What is your problem?Who cares of Apple?? Why should they follow Apple? The problem is with people's logic. They compare everything to Apple. Apple is Apple, Blackberry is Blackberry. The biggest problem are the specs though.

If the price is right; this mid-range device might get some traction with people that want an inexpensive Android device with security.
It will all come down to how aggressively BlackBerry can price this device though.
It's a mid-range device (with lots of RAM and great cameras) but the price will be the most important detail when it comes to how successful this device is.
Really bad idea Blackberry. First of all, you should make your device, because it sounds better if people knows Blackberry made their device. Secondly, the specs are outdated. SD 615??? What? :O
Price $1,000,000
Demo of some of BlackBerry's early improvements to android is here. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hwAuFvxP8W4.
To tell the truth androids marshmallow update was overhyped (unless security was a concern) The real improvements came with their bug fixes and productivity app updates.
615 sucks!
galaxyS7, 21 Jul 2016Why the hell they put SD 615 in it....?. They never learn?....Because Samsung put same SD 615 in its A5 phone. :D
Comón dude, don't compare this mid-ranger with Samsung S7 or LG G5. BB will put SD615 or 617 in this phone due to its class.
BlackBerry has put some of their 44,000 patents to use and made some pretty decent improvements on top of androids stock operating system.
The hub,the shortcuts, the productivity tabs, the app permissions shortucts via dtek, the pop up widgets etc.
I seriously hope they keep the improvements coming by doing things like adding their own browser similar to bb10's and integrating it with the universal search. Their File management app is sorely missed on android also.
Major productivity benefits will be with their capacitive qwerty version. But the devices will be worthy especially for businesses that seek to control their workplace data.

mir, 22 Jul 2016Blackberry Idol 4.My thoughts exactly. Pay extra cash for the rebranding. Poor BB.
Trooper, 21 Jul 2016Like Sony ?.Sure if you still place BlackBerry alongside the tier Sony is in. 'Cause BB products now are just another Android competing against other Android makers, fact. But if one has to extend arguments in relation to its security, I am in no position to claim anything more than hearsays here and there saying it is the best or that it sucks. Simply because I've no experience with recent BB models but I had the old ones when they were still sporting BB OS. BlackBerry may have lost its touch even for a little. No matter, It should be safe to say we could expect their upcoming models to be designed as close to recent alcatel phones. But boy, do not talk about price 'cause I bet it would nowhere be near alcatel's, BB could be so stubborn to charge us premium for just a good (not great) user experience on old hardware. They could by all means do that on their in-house optimized BB OS but just barely so with the 3rd party/public Android OS. Yeah Android is 3rd party to them just like to any other OEMs. More likely their pricing would be like a bloated/overpriced alcatel. By bloated, I am referring to the price, not the UI nor the operating system. But who's to say I am right, I could be dead wrong
I still like my Z10 over any other android phones... have been using this for almost 3 years but still works so smooth... for me only disappointing is no proper FB app. The best mobile Web browser and very safe and simple OS is still impress me a lot.
if under $300 maybe i think about it otherwise no, Now Blackberry need help not me
miss my bb10 os :(
Why not if the price is Alcatel level.
the 615 chipset is actually quite fine. Could have been higher but its ok and quite zippy
