Other hardware specs ticks all the right boxe... moreFirst, it is unlike any chinese custom ROMs like FlyMe (Meizu), MiUI (Xiaomi), Emotion UI (Huawei) and the rest. These custom ROMS tend to swing to iOS style and pretty much deviates on the standard material design of android. It's not too much of a slowdown but you can feel it.
ZTE, on the other hand, stayed on the material design and did as little as possible for customization, hence the near-stock android OS traits. Which means updates are expected to be faster than those mentioned above.
They had a history of software bloatware issue back then and was quickly resolved with the Axon 7.
It's only a matter of time before verdicts start popping out.

Aside from its familiar specs(~$450, SD820, 5.5" 2k AMOLED, +3000mAh,fingerprint,20MP/8MP) , what I liked from the Axon 7 is the standard 64gb/4gb, microSD/sim2 hybrid, metal build, 2.5D on front, near-stock android UI called MiFavor 4.0(I LOLed at its name), Marshmallow 6.0.1, and most of all: Hi-Fi(record & playback) + front-facing speakers. I am waiting for camera feedback and hoping for above-decent output.
ZTE Axon 7 is a darkhorse lurking in the Chinese smartphones.

I have a Find 7a and I can't wait for a new Oppo Phone. Personally i would like a 6 inch phone with a 4k screen with supervooc. I love Oppo.

Oppo made great phones as my Oppo Yoyo is still alive and running smooth after 2 years, unlike my S3 Mini, which is already dead after a year. But Oppo really shouldn't give up their devices so easily....still stuck at android 4.2...
