Obviously, when you equip a phone with a not-so-fast processor, an OS that is "half-baked", and a basic camera setup, you have to sell it with loss at some point. Yesterday's "Asp of Sony xperias" article is a living proof. When it comes to understanding consumer interest, Microsoft is very poor.
