The Smartphone market is Apple vs the rest, the smartwatch market now too is the same. Take note of how it's Apple vs the REST and not Apple vs Samsung ;) Samsung could only dream of competing directly with Apple.

Anonymous, 13 Jan 2016you say that , like there is actually such a huge market for wearables. 50% of a puddle is sti... moreIt was a puddle before Apple joined the wearable game. Not so anymore and going forward.
Because half of the people who would even bother wearing a "smartwatch" are entitled hipster simpletons.
Anyone else with a bit of common sense would probably get a self-winding waterproof non-brand watch for half, a third or if they are lucky to find a very good deal (as I found a few years ago) even a quarter of the price. If wearing a watch at all seems even necessary at all, that is.
And if you really want to go cheapo mode, a battery-powered quartz watch for a few dollars.
Or a used non-self-winding mechanical one, for the same price. These can be quite handsome if you're into vintage stuffs. You'll have to make a habit out of winding it up in the morning and try not to hit them against stuff (don't worry though, they are tougher than they look, I only busted my watch once or twice as a kid during school, but a drop on anything except a soft carpet is almost certainly going to break the balance wheel, and fixing that costs nowadays about as much as getting another used watch).
At least that way one doesn't need to worry about draining the battery too fast and ending up with a shiny but useless wristband until the next recharge. And if one wants to use it as a fitness band thing, yeah, nah... there are tons of cheaper alternatives to that too.
But fanboys will be fanboys. Or as they say, a fool and his money.

Because USA Media, They are Apple resellers. Posts only about apple products (fascism)

Player 1, 13 Jan 2016I would buy on these plastic toy just simply because I'm an apple fan boy.. I'd buy anything t... morePlastic toy? Only the sport band has a plastic feel to it, and even so the plastic feels extremely premium on your wrist. And if you only have a sport band? Your doing it wrong.
I say, let's wait for the SALES figures to be released. I can ship as many items as I want - it's the SALES that make the difference ...
And I'm no Apple / Samsung ... whatever fanboy. I have Android, Windows AND Apple devices (I am a mobile developer), so please - they all have their place in this silly old world ;-)
I would buy on these plastic toy just simply because I'm an apple fan boy.. I'd buy anything that has an apple logo even if it's useless or far worse than other brands..
A giant among dwarfs. Apple right now seems to be in the best situation to leverage the wearable watch (and I'm not an apple fan). The android market is very fragmented, making app design unappealing.
That being said I still fail to see the advantage of the smart watches. Perhaps when refined google glass like overlays become available they'll be a useful input device?
you can ship as many iWatch as you want, but you just can't sell them all.

In all Apple watch adverts there is NOT an iPhone in sight as it would be clear totally unnecessary, I have 2 phone both cost less than the watch
Every year there is a report of the cost of an iPhone to its selling price
The Apple watch must now be the most profitable item as it is all profit
Dave Granger, 12 Jan 2016Smartwatches are an overpriced phone accessory. All of them. And as with anything over priced or under priced. It's up to the consumer to buy it or not. No one holds a gun to your head forcing you to make the purchase. At the end of the day, those who can will. Those who can't will cry rivers screaming how overpriced and useless it is. Shame.
Smartwatches are an overpriced phone accessory. All of them.
