vivo Android Announcement

The vivo Y22s popped up in Vietnam last month, and now the company is offering an even more affordable version, called vivo Y22. The device is already up for pre-order in Indonesia for IDR2,399,000, which is about $160.

The lower the price, the company brought an older chipset and less memory, but kept the dual cameras and the big battery.

The vivo Y22 is built around a 6.55” LCD with 720p resolution and a waterdrop notch on top. There's a 50MP camera on the back and an 8MP selfie shooter. Other similarities with the Y22s include the footprint, and while they both have a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging, the Y22 is 2 grams lighter.

The big change is the chipset, which is a Helio G85. vivo calls it a “gaming processor” but in reality, it is a two-year-old platform that was powering mid-rangers devices back in mid-2020.
