Google Online services

AI smarts are all over smartphone software these days - in digital assistants, chat apps, your homescreen and now your music player. The revamped Google Play Music uses contextual cues to pick the best music.

For example, as you walk into the gym, Play Music launches into your workout music. At work you get something to help you concentrate, at home something to relax you and so on. Of course, all of those are personalized - if you opt into the service, Google will even track how your taste in music changes when it rains outside.

The updated homescreen combines these predicted soundtracks with recommendations of new releases. As all machine learning tools, the new Google Play Music will get better the more you use it. It’s not all cold machinery though, Google is employing a team of music experts to curate the best songs.
