I've had this phone for 4 years and it's worked extremely well for the price. The camera is fantastic and it has alot of the features of newer phones like Google lens and nifty ai features like circle to erase. Only now I'm considering getting a new phone (possibly a pixel 8) because of a few issues. It's began to be quite slow and at least daily I get the not responding message. I also have had significant issues with Bluetooth, headphones have stopped connecting, and others have had the volume really quiet. This is all very recent however and it's been working for a solid 4 years now. Considering the price, I give this phone a solid 8/10
2025 end of September. Had the phone for about 4 years and 6 months, worked without a problem almost 4 of them, then the battery lost some of it s performance and the screen started deteriorating (you can see the pixels on the edge). What can I say, the phone did what it was supposed to do. Great phone for it s price, served me well, never had a malfunction with it. Gonna retire this bad boy in november(gonna trade it up for a better motorola, yep I m still sticking with the brand:)
Got the 64g forest green version, had phone for about 3 years , descent phone for the budget of £50 I paid for it great battery , performance not all bad , descent daily phone
Anonymous, 23 Aug 2024do you still use this phone in 2024? if so, how was it?I continue to use this phone in 2024 as my second phone. It has no phone case or protective glass and my Moto g9 play does not get any scratches or damage at all. The battery life is still good, I charge it once in 4-5 days, basically I take it in my hands when my main phone is charging. I may say the performance is as expected for 4 gb ram and 662 processors, but when it comes to opening a camera and taking photos it goes insanely laggy. All the rest works fine for these specs and price (I bought it for something like 100 USD in 2021)

Tom, 03 Jan 2023brill phone , solid construction and massive battery, only missing compass but overall I would... moreNice model
This is sold under the name Lenovo K12 Note here in SEA and this is really cheap for 128GB variant but the one that I have has battery issue in which it will shutdown when playing slightly high power task like playing Youtube videos, using FB, video calls, etc.
brill phone , solid construction and massive battery, only missing compass but overall I would recommend this for daily use , my only down side is the size which make use with one hand difficult. this proves that u don't need massive budget for generous phone.
Uses low battery especially when playing games! Very good overall performance. didn't expect this for a phone that i bought for £80.
I have 64GB variant in Forest Green color, perfect cheap daily driver! Camera is not that great in low light situations but what you can expect for a 100€ device. Otherwise, fast and reliable and great battery life!
Fantastic phone - I bought it for £99 (it's even cheaper now) and it does everything I ask of it with great performance and battery life. Camera is a little low quality, but definitely good enough as long as you don't zoom in.
Anderson, 27 Mar 2022How does battery of Motorola Moto G9 Play last after update to Android 11?After all day usage the battery percentage is about 50%.
Anderson, 27 Mar 2022How does battery of Motorola Moto G9 Play last after update to Android 11?Not so bad, it covers all the day.
I use this as a modem basically, share the network to a computer with unlimited data.
Battery lasts long, phone's a bit heavy and big, 720p looks just fine on Youtube, camera is bad though.
It also seems to lose the signal from time to time, usually even multiple times a day. However, I am not sure if this is because of the phone or the 5GHz frequency I use, instead of 2,4GHz for the signal. The speed also, I have 200M network, but it has given at absolute best about 80M, usually staying around 30-50M wirelessly. Wired wasn't any better, but actually worse. Other wireless connection in the apartment is a mouse, that only. Other citizens' electrojunk might interfere in the communist box I live in.
For 69€ it was a nice deal. If and when it breaks, couldn't care less.

If you do not mind about the quality of the camera (it's not the best) and the big size, then it is the best bang for the buck.
Never had a telephone with such a long lasting battery, amazing!
Really good phone for the price! Couldn't be happier!!!
