Phone still works till now (running with lineage os 14.1) too bad battery didn't last long.

This seems like a good phone, but the downside is it is not 4g.

Been using this phone for over a decade now. Up until 2 years ago, my battery would still last me 2 weeks if left idle. 1 week with calls and music playing. Started restarting randomly and power readings are no longer reliable.
Tried replacing batteries but it didn't improve the situation much so I guess the phone's finally died but this thing is a tank, dropped it many many times without ever cracking the screen.
Kitkat 4.4.4 is extremely responsive and doesn't fight me.
Great phone, don't think I'll ever be happy with anything else.
I wish I could just clone the OS and data to a new phone.

All these haters that just bought a 9 year old phone? Nine years old - of course you wont like it. It was a good low/mid range smartphone when it came out.
That said, Samsung's mid range at the time usually had NFC and a memory card slot.

I, too, would like t return this problem phone and go back to using the Samsung 3 I still have. Right now, I can't get it to charge. You don't know how many times I felt like throwing it in a box and returning it.

I've had this moto g phone for years and it was an ok phone it the battery is absolute rubbish I make one call or receive one call and that's it the battery is done it needs charged infact its never off the charger, Its so bad I've had to go out and buy another mobile this time a moto e3 and that's miles better it has a removable battery and it lasts for days infact this new one gets charged once a week and it lasts all week after that. If you're thinking about buying the moto g ( don't it's really not worth the money) buy the moto e3 it's great

My videos recorded from Moto G 1st generation got corrupt. And I don't have any video recorded from G1. So I can't recover them back.

I bought this phone brand new in 2013, paid 200 and was the best 200 i ever spent on a smartphone.
My device has been through hell and back, dropped so many times, my sister used for 1 year, ever water spilled on it, so many abuse. Still, 100% works. Everything works. Phone calls, speaker, microphone, buttons, led light, 3.5 jack, cameras etc
Screen, 720p, hard to see in the sun but will get the job done. Already some ghost touches but it works.
Battery, enough for 1 day of medium use, 2 days if you only use for some calls or occasional messages.
Performance is ok for a snapdragon 400 and 1gb ram. Do not use more than 1 app at the same time. Install LineageOS 14.1 with microg or pico gapps, android 7 Nougat and every app works fine, whatsapp, facebook, instagram etc
Build is very tought, dropped so many times, has a lot of scratches all around in the plastic but the screen still holds well with minor scratches. Incredible.
Cameras, keep it to some photos during the day only for entertaining, mediocre results. I searched for gcam support but couldn't find it.
Overall, if you want a backup phone (and don't have money to buy something better) to use when everything else fails this is it: phone calls, messages, facebook lite, instagram, some mails, calculator, notes, news etc this phone does the job. Slowly but steady, very dependable. Reminds me of the old Nokias that refused to die. Will keep it until it dies one day eventually.
