The Moto G Stylus lineup has been a North American exclusive for a few years already and it sure has strong following overseas. Our curiosity has finally prevailed, and we imported the latest Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) model from the US. Meet one of the very few phones that is not a Note, but it surely deserves the name more than most.
The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) looks a lot like the most recent Moto Edge 50 series, be it Fusion, Pro or Ultra. It has a relatively narrow design with a large screen and a unique eco-leather back panel that envelops the rear cameras without any borders or interruptions. The only meaningful difference between the Edge and the Stylus is the omission of complete water protection - the Stylus features water-repellent design - a fancy wording Motorola is using for the basic IP52 rating.
The Moto G Stylus 5G features a 6.7-inch pOLED 1080p screen with 1B colors and 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip coupled with 8GB of RAM, just like the Latin American version of the Moto Edge 50 Fusion.
The Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) offers a dual camera on the back with a 50MP OIS primary with 2x lossless zoom and a 13MP ultrawide camera with macro support. The front camera is 32MP.
The phone offers loud stereo speakers, a large 5,000mAh battery with fast wired and wireless charging, and clean Android 14 OS.
The 2024 Stylus model is quite the update over the 2023 version - even if it has the same chipset, it brings a much better design, display, cameras, and, most importantly - thoroughly expanded stylus capabilities - reduced latency, OCR option, improved stylus-related apps.
The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 seems like the perfect mid-ranger, offering everything one may want from a $400 phone, with a built-in stylus at that.
The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 ships in a thin paper box, which contains the phone and a USB-C cable. That's it.
There is no charger, no case, and no perfumed box (unlike the Edge series in the rest of the world).
140, the specs itself shows that it's a low end phone with some midrange features. The most glaring sign to see what a phone is worth is through its Chipset(SoC).
