Sony Android Firmware Updates

Just yesterday, we told you about Sony Xperia XZ, XZs and X Performance getting a new update that brought along the May patch. And now, it has come to light that more Xperia models are getting the latest security update.

The new list includes the following names: Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact, XZ Premium, Xperia X, and X Compact.

The update arrives as build number 47.1.A.12.179 for the XZ1 series and XZ Premium, while for the X series, the build number is 34.4.A.2.70. No information on what other changes (if any) are included in the update.

Simple. This is because X Compact was sharing the same firmware with X. Definitely not because Sony is opted of extending its support for Xperia X.

This is why if every smartphone this year disappoints me, I will happily buy an XZ1. It's guaranteed two updates. To P and Q and came with Oreo out of the box.
