Xiaomi Firmware Updates Android

Xiaomi has released the Global Beta ROM of MIUI 10 with Android Pie underneath to the Poco F1.

The firmware can be installed on the Pocophone F1 either through the Updater app or through Fastboot. The Global Beta also signifies that the final version of the Android Pie firmware is closing in on release.

MIUI 10 over Android 9.0 Pie has been promised to arrive by the end of the year for Poco F1 owners.

Hey guys! We are now open with the Android Pie beta for #POCOF1. Please feel free to use it and do share feedback on the beta build in the feedback app. This will help us refine the version for the stable builds. @IndiaPOCO #MasterOfSpeed

And while on the topic of promised updates, Jai Mani - Poco's Global Head of products - has committed that Xiaomi will bring at least Android Q to Poco F1.

We'll do at least P and Q

Meanwhile Xiaomi is also working to bring HD streaming support to the Poco F1 by the end of the year, but there's no word if Widevine L1 support will come before the Android Pie update, with it or after it.

Just as I posted this I found out that the latest update allows you to choose battery indicator as a percentage in the settings. No need to rely on a theme anymore :)

Yeah battery percentage was a big irritant but you get themes that show the battery percentage. Search in the theme store for such themes. There are a few now.
