Microsoft Android Windows

Last month, Microsoft’s Phone Link platform added the ability to extract text from images in your Android phone’s gallery. The optical character recognition (OCR) feature dubbed as “Scan Text” was still in beta back then but it has now made its way to the consumer build of Phone Link.

Users who have Link to Windows version 1.24052.124.0 or later on their PC and the Link to Windows app for Android will now be able to extract text from images in their phone gallery. The text extract feature will then appear in the photos menu inside the Phone Link app and it can also be evoked via the Ctrl + T shortcut. As of now “Scan Text” supports several languages but it works best with English.

Phone Link is built in Windows and all phones from multiple brands, including Samsung. No worries.

So you need two apps on both OSs to use this feature and others as well?
