Mediatek has just announced the arrival of two new chipsets - the Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810. They are an evolution of the Dimensity 900 and Dimensity 800, respectively, and are built on TSMCβs 6nm manufacturing process.
Both platforms bring octa-core CPUs and support for Full HD+ displays with 120Hz screen refresh rate suggesting they are intended for mid-range phones.
The Dimensity 920 has its powerful Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.5GHz with the Cortex-A55 ones clocked at 2GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G68 MC4, and Mediatek claims an optimized design for power efficiency should offer up to 9% faster gaming performance over the Dimensity 900.
The Dimensity 920 supports LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM, as well as UFS 2.2 and UFS 3.1 storage, giving makers extra flexibility when it comes to building smartphones with it.
The Dimensity 920 supports Dual 5G SIM connectivity as well as VoNR service. Other specs include all the latest Wi-Fi standards, 2x2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.2.
The Dimensity 810 chip is the first 6nm Dimensity 800 series chip and again offers dual 5G stand-by, but offers an older Cortex-A76 powerful CPU cores clocked at 2.4GHz and Cortex-A55 power-efficient ones of unconfirmed speed. It has a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and support for up to LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
Both Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810 are expected to arrive in smartphones as early as Q3 2021.
Exynos Flagships with 10-20 Gpu cores are too bad they heats up and consume battery so quickly.. You can watch the problem of Exynos2100 and earlier types.. More Gpu cores more battery Consumption, more Heating output.. This is why Mediatek only...
