LG Android Announcement

The LG V35 ThinQ was just unveiled without much fanfare. It switches to the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset, but other than that it is largely identical to the LG V30S ThinQ, which itself was mostly identical to the original LG V30 save for the upgrade to 6 GB of RAM.

The V35 keeps the 6” FullVision OLED display with HDR10 support. The camera department saw some improvements, mostly by borrowing the dual 16 MP camera from the LG G7 ThinQ (the V30 had a 16 MP + 13 MP setup). Same for the selfie camera, which moves up from 5 MP to 8 MP. The main camera also borrows the Super Bright Camera mode (pixel binning) from the G7.

The phone features LG’s signature Quad DAC and various sound enhancements, including DTS:X (with 3D virtualization up to 7.1 audio). It will be bundled with a pair of Bang & Olufsen headphones.

Also, the LG V35 is MIL-STD 810G compliant and has IP68 water resistance, similar to the company’s other flagships. The 3,300 mAh battery is 10% larger than G7’s battery and there’s wireless charging and Quick Charge 3.0.

Again, the chipset is Snapdragon 845 (the V30 had S835) and there’s 6 GB of RAM. The storage choices are 64 GB and 128 GB, plus however much you put in the microSD slot. The phone will run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box plus the ThinQ smarts.

The LG V35 will be available in New Aurora Black and New Platinum Gray

All in all, this is an LG G7 with a notch-free OLED display. The price sits at a rather steep $900, making this one of the most expensive options in the US market currently. AT&T will start taking pre-orders on June 1, units will be available on June 8.

Once bitten by a snake and fear of a rope forever! Relax, it's just a rope, and all problemed phones will be improved. Once you are willing to open your mind, you'd definitely see the difference.
