The saga of the update to Android Oreo for LG's V30 continues. It's been many months since the company first released the new software in its home country of Korea, and today this has finally arrived in another market - Italy.
LG's Italian arm is proudly boasting about the rollout, which has started today. Not only will V30 units sold in Italy unlocked and through Vodafone receive the new Android iteration, but also the ThinQ AI features that debuted at MWC alongside the V30S. V30 models sold by other carriers in Italy will get the update at some point in the future.
Under the ThinQ moniker LG has grouped a bunch of software tweaks for the V30's cameras, which help them perform better in low light, and identify exactly what is being shot.
You get suggestions based on the subject of your photo, with the best settings based on eight categories: portrait, food, animals, landscape, city, flowers, sunrise, and sunset. To develop these image recognition algorithms, LG has examined more than 100 million samples.
