LG Android Announcement

The LG K12+ was quietly announced in Brazil yesterday and it packs a lot of features for an entry-level device. If it looks familiar to you, don’t be surprised, we’ve already seen the device as the LG K40. The main selling points of the K12+ is that it offers plenty of features found on more expensive LG devices such as AI enhanced software and premium audio at a midrange price-point.

The K12+ comes with а 5.7 inch HD+ screen without a notch. The front also houses the 8MP selfie shooter and front-facing flash. The device is running on the Helio P22 SoC and features 2GB RAM with only 32GB storage, which you can expand via MicroSD. Software wise the device is running on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. On the left side of the device, there is a dedicated Google Assistant button below the volume controls.

Around the back of the plastic built device, we find a single 16MP camera with flash along with a fingerprint sensor. The battery is 3000 mAh and can be topped up via the (well past its prime) microUSB port. Audio-heads will be pleased to find DTS:X 3D Surround Sound support when plugging their headphones in the device’s 3.5mm jack. Durability is also an area where the K12+ shines with its MIL-STD 810G certification.

The K12+ plus will set buyers back R$ 1,199 ($308) and is available in Moroccan Blue, Platinum Gray, and Black.
