Lenovo Android MWC 2014

Lenovo S860

The Lenovo S860 comes with a 5.3" IPS screen of 720p resolution, a quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor, 8MP camera at the rear and a 1.6MP front- facer.

What impressed us in the S860 is the 4,000mAh battery, which is capable of reverse-charging other devices.

The smartphone has a brushed aluminum unibody with a pleasantly curved back. The sides of the phone have matte finish and feature the volume keys and power button with great press feedback.

The Lenovo S850 is probably the most interesting of them all. First off, let's get the technicalities out of the way. It goes about its business with a 5" IPS panel of 720p resolution, a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek processor, a 12MP camera on the back and a 5MP unit above the screen.

Lenovo S850

The Lenovo S850 comes in a variety of colors, including white and pink, and its plastic finish is meant to feel and look like glass. The 5" screen has good viewing angles thanks to the IPS tech and pleasing colors. The white one looks particularly good.

The back of the phone has an underlying texture and the Lenovo logo is placed above an LED, which lights up in different colors, depending on the notification you have.

Lenovo S660

The Lenovo S660 uses a 4.7" IPS panel of qHD (540 x 960) resolution. It's powered by a quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek chip.

Lenovo S660

The Lenovo S660 imitates the S860 in its build quality, trying to emulate the brushed aluminum unibody.

Lenovo S660

As you can see in the photos above, the Lenovo S660 comes with a bumper case, which has a clasp at the back to use as a pocket clip. Even better, it doubles as a desktop stand. It's likely that this case will be bundled with the Lenovo S660 in the retail box.

Lenovo S660

All three devices have a custom skin on top of Android 4.2. It looks like a blend of Samsung's TouchWiz and LG's Optimus UI, skewed towards the latter. Performance on all three smartphones is okay but far from the KitKat beasts at the top of the food chain.
