I'm bit disappointed that it runs Android 13 GO. No where could I find info on the operating system of this phone. Even GSMarena just showed Android 13. Otherwise my daughter seems to like the phone. Her previous Itel was A36 model, which run Android GO, and I hoped this one (A60s) with 4GB RAM will deliver the full Android, but on booting it showed Android 13 GO :-(

It's a Nice phone 128GB 4+4GB RAM but it's android 12 go edition and the phone heats up pretty quick apart form that it has nice display and a good battery capacity.

It's however surprising both the P40 and A60S come... moreThe SoC is actually pretty anemic. Good enough for regular non-gaming apps, but anything else would test your patience. Android Go cuts various features that reduce not only RAM usage but also CPU cycles in the background, like split screen and live wallpaper. Even with that, a 28 nm component introduced way back in 2018 is just barely keeping up.
SC9863A is the benchmark reference for Android 13 Go, as in, Google accede that vendors will still release new products with it, and it being the slowest relative to other SoCs in the market, if they tweak Android 13 Go enough to run acceptably, they know that it will run even better on any other SoC.
Also, despite the CPU itself supporting 64-bit mode, Android Go must be built as 32-bit only (you can see this in review videos when they open AIDA), so that's another limitation you need to remember. Generally this doesn't matter much since Play Store will just deliver the correct version, but if you're trying to download an APK split into various platform, remember you'll want the armeabi-v7a, not the arm64-v8a.
So why the relatively big RAM? Because it's cheap enough, caching process and frequently accessed files do improve performance in regular apps. If you believe you need split-screen, full Android, and 64-bit mode, then you'll want Itel S23 (again, you can confirm this on unboxing videos, they show the boot screen doesn't mention Go, and AIDA shows it's running on 64-bit)

I really wanted the itel P40, but I see it comes with Android Go Editions, so I'm settling for the itel A60S. Yet it's so confusing - some places say it comes with Go Edition others just say Android 12.
Can anyone clarify, pls.
