vivo iQOO Android Announcement

vivo sub-brand iQOO unveiled the iQOO Neo5 S and Neo5 SE earlier this week, and today the company further expanded its portfolio with the iQOO U5's announcement.

The iQOO U5 is powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC, runs Android 12-based OriginOS Ocean out of the box, and has three RAM options - 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB. It also comes with Memory Fusion 2.0, allowing virtual RAM expansion up to 4GB.

The U5 has a single 128GB storage option, but you can still expand the storage (up to 256GB) via a microSD card.

The Snapdragon 695-powered smartphone packs a 6.58" 120Hz FullHD+ LCD with a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie camera. Around the back, we get a 50MP primary camera that's joined by a 2MP macro unit. The front and rear cameras support Super Night Scene Mode, but you don't get that on the 4GB RAM model.

The rest of the iQOO U5's highlights include a five-layer liquid cooling system, side-mounted fingerprint reader, Hi-Res Audio, 3.5mm headphone jack, and 5G support.

Fueling the iQOO U5 is a 5,000 mAh battery, charged through a USB-C port at up to 18W.

The iQOO U5's base variant with 4GB RAM will cost you CNY1,299 ($205/€180), while the 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM models will set you back by CNY1,399 ($220/€195) and CNY1,499 ($235/€210), respectively.

The smartphone will go on sale in China starting January 1, 2022 through the company's official site, but there's no word on its availability in other markets.

Excellent! Snapdragon, so it is feasible to expect custom ROM support, SD card slot and 3.5 mm audio port. Good camera too, and does not break the bank. Will keep an eye on this sub brand.

And I just explained why it is a completely stupid and egocentric thing to do.

Calm down, I was just doing the reverse of the common 'No headphone jack, no sd card, no buy'.
