iQOO 12 to offer 3 years of OS updates, Funtouch OS 14 seriously reduces bloatware

As we are waiting for the global iQOO 12 series release, the company announced that it's getting rid of the annoying bloatware with the arrival of Funtouch OS 14, based on Android 14. The new version of the software was announced a couple of months ago and even shared a list of devices eligible for the update.

Anyone who has used Funtouch OS knows that iQOO likes to include a set of "Hot Apps" and "Hot Games" with its devices out of the box. With Funtouch OS 14 going forward, there won't be any of those. In other words - iQOO is getting rid of the bloatware.

Additionally, the company confirms that the iQOO 12 series will be eligible for three major OS updates and 4 years of security patches. A pretty solid commitment even if not quite up to par with Samsung, OnePlus and Google, which have even longer support.

Either way, it's a step in the right direction, so we won't be complaining. After all, iQOO is still making a name for itself and once it gets a hold of more cash, it will likely redirect some of its resources to keeping its phones up to date for longer.
