iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus survive the bend test that shattered the iPhone 15 Pro Max

Apple iOS

When it's not overheating, the iPhone 15 Pro Max fails bend tests - like the one performed last week by Zack from YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. It's quite a sight to behold how the back glass shatters when the phone is bent, and keep in mind that this is the first iPhone to ever fail such a test. Let's reminisce:

Today it's time to see if the vanilla iPhone 15, which still has an aluminum frame, unlike the Pro Max's fancy titanium, will share the same fate or not. Spoiler alert: no. Watch the full durability test for yourself and see:

As usual, it all starts with a screen scratch test. Apple's Ceramic Shield is a little bit more scratch resistant than the Gorilla Glass that most Android phones use, but it still scratches at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, and shows deeper grooves at level 7. It's just that the marks aren't as pronounced as on other phones.

The bend test is survived with flying colors by this model, unlike its way higher-priced relative. The same goes for the iPhone 15 Plus, which is also tested at the end.

We're currently busy working on our comprehensive in-depth reviews for all four new iPhones, so stay tuned - the first one is coming very, very soon.

While I agree that aluminum and SS make better phone frame materials where cost and machining are concerned, I gotta clear up this silly misconception about sapphire. While it is true when comparing a single material (e.g. 17-4 SS) that the harder te...

With the intention to force users to go through official Apple service centers where they charge much more than 3rd party repair shops.
