This year, Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), is taking place from June 10 to June 14. On the first day of WWDC, Apple traditionally announces new versions of its operating systems. This year we're expecting the unveiling of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and also new iterations of watchOS, tvOS, macOS, and visionOS.

Apple will hold the WWDC online like in past years, but developers and students will be able to celebrate in person at a special event at Apple Park on June 10, watching the keynote, meeting with Apple team members, and taking part in special activities. There will be limited availability, however. Details about participation can be found here, where you need to request to attend.

Otherwise, the online event is obviously free for anyone to join. Apple will provide developers with "unique access to Apple experts, as well as insight into new tools, frameworks, and features" throughout the event in order to help them "elevate their apps and games", the official press release says.

There will be video sessions and "opportunities to engage with Apple designers and engineers and connect with the worldwide developer community" too.

Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, said:

We’re so excited to connect with developers from around the world for an extraordinary week of technology and community at WWDC24. WWDC is all about sharing new ideas and providing our amazing developers with innovative tools and resources to help them make something even more wonderful.
