The Infinix GT 50 Pro is quite a unique device. We only wish it were more widely available, as at the time of writing, it is available in just a handful of markets such as the UAE, Bangladesh, and Indonesia.
The official price is IDR 6,499,000 ($376/€330 converted) for the 12/256GB trim and up to IDR 7,499,000 ($434/€370 converted) for the 12/512GB model. Outside Indonesia, you can find the 512GB version for about €600.
Considering the limited market availability, it's a bit tough to select particular competitors, especially gaming-oriented ones.
Poco X8 Pro is a natural rival to the GT 50 Pro. It has a Dolby Vision screen and a slightly more powerful Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip. The camera and the battery departments are similar on both devices. While the Poco X8 Pro may not provide the coolness (literal and metaphorical) of the GT 50 Pro, it is a mainstream favorite with more power and wider multimedia support, and it could be the better choice.
Then there is the Realme 16 Pro+ for those wanting a more camera-oriented smartphone within the same price range. It may not be as powerful, but it comes with a 200MP primary, a 50MP 3.5x-7x telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide imagers with an additional 50MP selfie camera. It has a more impressive 7,000 mAh, too.
The Tecno Camon 50 Pro is a more budget-oriented alternative with a mid-range Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chip, but it still impresses with design, a 144Hz AMOLED, and the camera department has an additional 50MP 3x telephoto camera.
Or, if you fancy yourself a high-end Infinix device, you may want to consider the Pininfarina-designed Infinix Note 60 Ultra with one of a kind flagship design, the same Dimensity chip, much better and richer camera kit, and more impressive battery life.
Poco X8 Pro • Realme 16 Pro+ • Tecno Camon 50 Pro • Infinix Note 60 Ultra
None of these phones we've mentioned can offer the added flexibility of the gaming shoulder triggers, though.
The Infinix GT 50 Pro is another cool smartphone from the maker, which we really liked while reviewing it. It has an interesting design with a transparent back and RGB lights, there are pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers, reliable cameras, and most importantly - a gaming-friendly chipset with an optional cooling fan.
The GT 50 Pro is not just a great-looking smartphone. It does feature the screen and the internals to handle games properly, with a high and steady frame rate. The phone posted some solid battery times; it can charge fast enough, and there are some useful features like wired and wireless bypass charging, fully customizable triggers, and some neat AI tricks.
The GT 50 Pro is not a perfect device. First, it's not properly water-resistant. Then its great screen does not officially support HDR video. And if you do like this phone, buying it will be a tough job due to its limited market availability.
Still, it's a well-rounded offer that's worth considering.
