Huawei Android Announcement

A month ago Huawei unveiled the Y7p Thailand, an entry-level phone with a 48MP main camera. Now this phone has made its way to Europe as the Huawei P40 Lite E.

It’s available right now on Huawei’s Polish site and costs PLN 700 – a temporary discount from PLN 1,168 (€163, down from €272). This is for a phone with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. Also, you’re getting a free Huawei Band 4. Shipments start on March 12.

As you might expect, the phone comes with Huawei’s AppGallery instead of the Google Play Store (and similar Huawei-branded replacements for Google’s apps).

In case you didn't pay attention to the Y7p, here’s a quick rundown of the specs. The Huawei P40 Lite E features a 6.39” IPS LCD with 720p+ resolution. There’s an 8MP punch hole selfie camera in the upper left.

On the back, there’s a triple camera with a 48MP main module (f/1.8 aperture), plus an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There’s fingerprint reader.

AI-powered stabilization enables handheld night shots with up to 6 seconds exposure. Additional AI smarts organize photos into 280 categories, allowing easy search in the gallery.

The P40 Lite E is an LTE phone and supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 5.0, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB. The latter is used to charge the 4,000mAh battery at 10W.

The phone is powered by the Kirin 710F chipset and runs EMUI 9.1 out of the box. A microSD card slot is available to expand the built in 64GB of storage (cards up to 512GB are supported).

So far the Huawei P40 Lite E is available only on the Polish site, though we imagine it will spread out to other EU countries as well. The phone comes in Black and Aurora Blue.

They can. But not with Gapps. Not like anyone would buy them.
