Samsung is Samsung. Holds the value. As someone said, specs are similar, but software development and LCDs, batteries are better. I've hade 8" version, and a 10 inch... You tube via browser, but good to play videos in hd, and music, stereo sound.

Appear to have damaged recharge slot by removing cable incorrectly. Can tablet be fixed and if so by whom.

Huawei tablets seem to age well and perform way better than their specs would suggest. I still use this and it runs reasonably well. Battery life is really good. If you insist on getting a cheap tablet, choose Huawei. The rest of cheap tablets are rubbish.

A micro SD card slot is a slot in the device in which this card can be inserted with the intention of basically giving the phone a larger internal memory.
In this instance yes the tablet does have a SD card slot, you can access it with a generic sim remover tool.

Good basic device. I bought this along with the Surelock app to turn the device into a handset for Video calling using Google Duo for an older relative. Device works very well for price. Screen is good despite resolution, no noticeable lag from CPU when opening apps. Comes with a lot of bloatware which cannot be removed. It DOES have a slot for an SD Card. I now use it for video on the move when I don't want to take my Samsung Tab S3 and it's fine for that.

I suppose you can use your tablet and phone app ;)
Try another SIM card which works in other phone. If you got additional SIM card from your provider for your tablet, it's most likely a data-only card.
