Huawei Mate X2 official unboxing video shows off the phone and its rich retail package

Huawei Android

The Huawei Mate X2 was just unveiled and it will become available in China later this week. Unlike certain flagship competitors, the X2 will come in a large, well-stocked retail package. Check out the official unboxing video to see what’s inside.

There’s the phone, of course, traveling unfolded. Note that there are pre-applied screen protectors on both the inside and outside screen. Further down in the box is the 66W SuperCharger (the phone tops out at 55W, but you can charge laptops with this power brick). You also get a USB-C cable and a USB-C headset.

That’s not all – included in the box is a leather protective case. It has a built in kick stand that can prop up the phone whether it’s opened (so you can view its massive 8” screen) or closed (the external 6.45” screen has a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio).

The video also highlights the phone’s wedge design. It’s thickest near the cameras and tapers off, measuring just 4.4 mm at the thinnest part. When closed, Huawei’s patented hinge design leaves no gap between the two halves, but also gently folds the OLED panel in a teardrop shape to minimize creasing.

The Huawei Mate X2 will be available in China from February 25 starting at CNY 18,000 ($2,780/€2,300).

I've personally had Samsung's fold 2 to use for a week, I hated the crease, it was awful. Then I had the software to deal with, it was worse. Huawei's UI has always been smoother and more user friendly, not to mention cameras that are ...

The Samsung fold 2 is terrible. I didn't like it, the crease in the middle of the screen is very visible. Huawei's version is a lot better looking already. Plus, they always take samsung's idea and make it better just to troll them.
