Huawei Honor Android

The Huawei Honor 9 was just unveiled and thanks to Geekbench, we’re getting our first glimpse at the performance of the Kirin 960 chipset at its heart.

This is a CPU test so we’re focusing on the octa-core processor of the new premium mid-ranger. It has four Cortex-A73 cores (running at 2.4GHz) and four A53 cores (clocked at 1.8GHz), which were built on TSMC’s 16nm FFC process. Also note that the Honor 9 features 6GB of RAM, something even most flagships on the list below don’t have.

GeekBench 4.1 (multi-core)

Higher is better

  • Xiaomi Mi 6
    6719
  • Galaxy S8 (Exynos 8895)
    6656
  • Honor 9 (Kirin 960)
    6519
  • HTC U11 (S835)
    6393
  • Xperia XZ Premium (S835)
    5460
  • LG G6 (S821)
    4175

GeekBench 4.1 (single-core)

Higher is better

  • Galaxy S8 (Exynos 8895)
    1991
  • Xiaomi Mi 6
    1929
  • HTC U11 (S835)
    1919
  • Honor 9 (Kirin 960)
    1865
  • Xperia XZ Premium (S835)
    1836
  • LG G6 (S821)
    1767

Keep in mind this is a €360 phone (in China at least, taxes will push that the worldwide price up). And that’s stellar performance for the price, Huawei’s Honor brand has a real fighter on its hands.

Indeed huawei is a serious company and they are exploiting so well and giving us what we want. They have the fastest fingerprint in the world and and only Oneplus and iPhone can challenge their speed performance, hahaha.
