seems like a good alternative to mainstream options, then i saw it has a curved screen. now it's just a ruined alternative.
Bandya Mama 2025, 18 Jan 2025The HTC U24 Pro has some nice touches, but strange bugs, awkward handling and a short lifespan... moreThis is a quote from a review summary (techadvisor website)? With respect, it's a very subjective review, I have the device and I don't agree with a lot of the reviewer's claims. I do agree with the point on updates, but I'm finding the device to be really good overall, even the bluetooth playback is good and it doesn't even have premium codecs such as AptX (not even mentioned in that review). Oh and they also don't even mention the notification led, that's a must have :)
Such good phone ruined by non-unlockable bootloader.
The HTC U24 Pro has some nice touches, but strange bugs, awkward handling and a short lifespan make it hard to recommend over rivals such as the OnePlus Nord 4 or Pixel 8a. Unless you’re buying it purely for nostalgia, I can’t recommend it.For a while, the Taiwanese company was one of the leading producers of quality handsets and looked set to dominate for years. In fact, my first proper Android phone was the HTC Desire, which is still a classic design to this day.But things didn’t quite go to plan and the company fell away after a series of unenthusiastically received releases. HTC seems to have taken note, as the U24 Pro improves in all these areas. Admittedly it’s still a little on the heavy side, but the 199g is pretty much par for the course when it comes to modern mid-range Android phones.
I would buy it right away, but I wish its pricetag was below 500€.
Hope they go back to a flat screen and include a decent camera next time. They should be a able to for the money.
my fav phone brand is htc btw
Anonymous, 24 Dec 202436% in 1,5 hours is very slow it is like iPhone speeds I don't think it's normal Yep, it was faulty. They requested I use the provided cable in safe mode (power+up button) to confirm. Shame, now have a Xiaomi 14T, similar specs but feels like a downgrade

Thanks, mine takes about 1 hr 30 from 64% to 100%
I know there are several fast charging protocols so a bit of a murky area. Will see what HTC say
I'm using an old HTC charger, from the 10 or U11 maybe, haven't measured properly but, I've just topped up now from 65% to 100% in about 20 mins. If that helps.
Maybe you have something draining power somewhere?
The only other issue I have is the charging - it's very slow (supposed to be 60W). Tried with an Anker and another branded fast charger, which work with other phones, but although the HTC says fast charging it takes ages (over an hour).
Yep, got the LED to work (the notification slider for each app can also open up a separate page of settings - very sneaky). I like the LED alert as more energy efficient than an AOD. In fact I really like the phone, it's clean like the Nothing phones and has no bloat like Honor and Xiaomi
ChrisIB, 12 Dec 2024It features an old style notification LED and an AOD, but I can't get either to indicate ... moreI don't use the aod however did try it, couldn't get notifications to show, seems odd. You could ask HTC Support? I had a query, surprised to get a response (!) next day, they were really helpful.
Notification led is working well, only app where it didn't was Outlook but Outlook Lite did work. Have you got "Blink Light" set to on within notifications? DND also has separate blink settings.
Sometimes get dual red and green flashing, not quite figured this out yet, not to do with error or battery, seems to be if I have several notifications from multiple apps, quite like it though 🙂
It features an old style notification LED and an AOD, but I can't get either to indicate notifications on mine, anyone else had this?
The top and bottom are tapered to a sharper edge so there’s visually more bezels than in reality. Not sure why they went for that design thing but the phone itself is very pretty.
This phone is now on offer for £419 that's crazy deal for almost flagship level phone with micro SD slot and 3.5mm jack port!!
I still have a soft spot for HTC man. 🤗
