But in dark scenes I see yellowish tint on some zones (probably the brightness/uniformity problem) and image quality loses a lot. Unfortunately I bought it for watching movies and tv shows so I'll return it.

It happens rarely enough that the savings compared to a Samsung tablet more than make up for it TBH.

Extremely disappointed. Bought the tablet for the screen and turns out the screen is bad. Also some areas are brighter.

I got this for free when I also got my Magic7 Pro. Amazing tablet and no issues with the screen as someone below said.

I've had this tablet for almost 2 months, got it for £359.99 after a £100 discount + student code (now there's a code for £330 for everyone to use, but since its a code I think you can't stack the 10% student discount)
Overall very solid tablet, makes my old xiaomi pad 5 feel like a cheap toy after getting used to this one. Screen is big, bright and has really nice thin bezels. The speakers are two worlds ahead of the pad 5, and I genuinely mean it. Its much snappier as well.
However some things to note are:
The OLED panel seems to be on the cheaper side - you will only see this in dark scenes that are not quite pitch black, but lightly grey, but there is a large slodge on one side that is dimmer than the rest of the screen and is quite noticeable even when you're not looking for it, sometimes there is some kind of pixelation in dark scenes too. Its a bummer, but considering how good the tablet, including the screen, for the price is already I wouldn't call it a deal breaker and I've gotten used to it.
Some other stuff, the parallel space feature compared to second space/hide apps feature on xiaomi is a bit lacking and confusing. You can't install apps in the parallel space, you have to install them on your main space first, transfer them over to the parallel space and then delete the one on main space. Apps also don't have access to any folder, so apps like tachiyomi are broken because they need access to a single folder for application data.
The launcher is a bit meh.
You can't hold an app in multitask view to see app info or force stop or uninstall it
You can't search for an app and then hold it to put it on the home screen, you gotta manually find it
Sometimes when you swipe up for app list it just doesn't work
Theres no sorting into categories like xiaomi or poco launcher.
Overall, its a good experience but the screen has a slight flaw and the software could use some work, but there probably won't be any significant updates due to a lack of support.
For the price, I'm not complaining too much.

Ilk, 07 Jul 2025Just got an update 9.00.173 with a lot of new AI features. Very good update.Yes, Proofread AI is very good and helpful in the new update. I use it everywhere now. And the 8s gen3 in this tablet is a very good chip.

I'm a happy user of Magicpad2. Replaced laptop complitely with this tablet. OLED screen is amazing, 8s gen3 is more than capable for everything and heavy gaming also. High quality keyboard cover and a pen in a bundle. All this for just 500 euros. Magicpad2 bundle is the best price/quality ratio on the market.
I don't see any the reason to upgrade to magicpad3 without OLED.
OLED tech is a must on a tablet these days.

If you want OLED and have money you should buy the MagicPad 2 right now while it's on sale and you get free keyboard and stylus.
