HMD Android Announcement

HMD unveiled a new smartphone today, along with two featurephones. The HMD Vibe 5G comes with a 6.67-inch 720x1604 LCD touchscreen with 90Hz refresh rate, the Unisoc T760 SoC at the helm, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 50 MP rear camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, an 8 MP front camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging.

It runs Android 15 and is promised to receive two years of quarterly security updates. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, dual-SIM functionality, and a charger in the box. It's already available to buy in black and purple from HMD's website for INR 8,999 (down from a listed MRP of INR 11,999).

The HMD 101 and HMD 102 are essentially the same device, only the latter gets a QVGA camera with flash. They both have a 2-inch 240x320 display, the Unisoc 8910 FF-S processor, 16MB of expandable internal storage, an FM radio, an MP3 player, cloud apps, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance, and a 1,000 mAh removable battery.

Unisoc T760 is basically a Dimensity 6100+/6300 with 4 A76 cores instead of just 2. IMO it would be better as the de facto low-end 5G SoC than the overused D6XXX/G99/G100 chips that every cheapo phone uses.
