Samsung Android

Samsung introduced the Galaxy S10 5G at its Unpacked Event. This is the biggest device of the series with more cameras, and, of course, with full 5G support both for mmWave and sub-6GHz networks.

The phone will see gigabit speeds only in select countries, and Samsung announced a short list of the first places in Europe to get the new handset. They are France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

To have a proper 5G connectivity, your carrier has to play along as well - not all networks will support the full capabilities of the new generation. True 5G will be experienced at eight operators: Deutsche Telekom, EE, Orange, Sunrise, Swisscom, TIM, Telefonica, and Vodafone.

While some CEOs plainly said they are glad to be working with Samsung on this project, there are some details on the availability in the UK. According to Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer Division, 5G will be launched across 16 UK cities this year to provide “the fastest and most reliable connection”.

The Galaxy S10 5G will be released in the spring in these six countries (eight, if we count the United States and Australia), but Samsung is keeping the pricing a secret for now.

I am from Slovakia tiny country in heart of europe. And your 5G it will be like AT and T 5GE which is regular 4G LTE with icon showing 5G even its only 4G LTE. I dont believe in next 2 years 5G network will cover more than 10% of the world.

I am not sure what country you are from but my (Swiss) provider will start regular operation of its 5G network end of March. It will be some selected areas only but I am sure that during the usual life time of my phones they will have broad coverage.

Why would you provide 5G phones to some countries which are nowhere near the top 20 countries for 4G availability or speed. France has below 50% coverage for example.
