Here's when Siri AI may finally become available in the EU

One of the main new features of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is the new Siri AI, but this still isn't available in the EU, despite the fact that Apple released iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 last month.

Now if you've been wondering just how much longer you'll have to wait, we have some bad news. According to the generally reliable Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, we shouldn't expect Siri AI to launch in the EU "anytime soon".

Apparently, Apple wants to use the lack of Siri AI in the EU to get its frustrated customers to "push back against the EU's regulatory approach". That's definitely an interesting strategy if true - convince people to pay a lot of money for products that ship without one of the features you advertise the most, then rely on those same people to complain to the EU about the EU's regulations so that the EU caves and then you finally give the customers the feature you promised in the first place? That’s some incredibly convoluted logic right there, even for Apple - and that's saying something.

Anyway, Gurman says we should look at the Apple Intelligence rollout. That came out in October 2024 outside of the EU, but only made it to the EU in March 2025, so with a delay of about five months. Gurman thinks that we should expect a similar delay for Siri AI, in the "absolute best-case scenario". So what's the worst-case scenario? A "considerably longer" wait.
