Anonymous, 01 Nov 2023Wow bad move Depends: DxOMark places the Pixel 8 Pro higher than the S23 Ultra. The non-Pro shouldn't be far behind. In fact, even GSMArena offers some interesting results in Photo Compare Tool. Pixel 8 photos have less noise. Plus, Samsung phones have fixed ISO: mostly 25 / 50 during day and 1250 / 1600 during night. Just doesn't seem right...

That's the main reason I went for something else (Pixel 7).
But, those two you mentioned Phone and Gallery are great and far better than on Pixel.
On Google Photo you can't even change resolution on pictures that are not important, you need 3rd part app with access to your data. Samsung does not even have a phone without that option. Erase objects on pictures what is presented as something magical on Pixel, I had on Samsung, and it worked faster and better. Text over pictures, better fonts, lines, circles over pictures, etc. All on side of Samsung.
Google apps are not polished, they're all done half way, forcing you to look for apps from developers.
Double tap to lock does not exist on Pixel, you need app.
Samsung's routines vs Google routines in incomparable. It's eye vs arse.
But on one good app, Samsung pushes two unwanted.
Anyway Pixel is not in that class, it is not to be compared with flagship phones, it is more or less solid mid-ranger, even Pixel 8 Pro. What makes it stand out is the night camera, and anything else.

Returning this device and will buy an A54 Samsung. Maybe next year will be better.

Don't need Phone, Gallery etc. apps from Samsung when Google does this 10x times better. Google is a software company, mind you.
