IP68 water resistance, USB-3, always on display. 120hz OLED screen with adaptable refresh rates, respectable wired and wireless charging speeds and WIFI7. Supported for updates until 2030. Hard to beat in 2025 considering you can buy them in the CAD $350-500 price range brand new. Zero issues with mine for 18 months and counting. Still considering it a good buy in 2025.
SUMMARY:
Great display, OS, speakers, and camera. Battery life is mediocre, and performance is decent.
----------------------------------
Main points:
- Good for running all kinds of games (high settings will be around 20~30 frames though)
- Amazing for media consumption (speakers and screen are superb)
- Camera is astounding (sad that they removed photosphere, and macro is weak but the post processing makes up for the minor complaints I have)
- Less janky than samsung
----------------------------------
Overall - 8/10

I bought another one and my baby touches the back and it also cracked. The screen is lemon like u said as it makes me squeeze my face when it comes close to it.
Was thinking about buying 9 or even 10 to replace my Pixel 8.
But in the end will stay with 8 for at least one more year.
This phone - Pixel 8 is simply brilliant for me....
I've had my Pixel 8 for a year and a half, and so far it's performed at its best, with no issues except for a few minor bugs, good battery life and it doesn't get hot, the camera has been very good too and buying a good silicone protector prevents any glass from breaking, with Android 16 it moves very fluidly.

Kalka, 07 Apr 2025I will share my experience. The first impression was that the phone is very slippery, so I ... moreI wanted to buy a Pixel 8 two or three times, but I regretted it because of these flaws. I don't have the money for a Pixel 9. In the last few days, I found a second-hand Pixel 8 at a good price, and the owner confirmed that he had it for 7.8 months and there were no lines on the LCD. I also said that if the LCD hasn't broken in 7.8 months, then there must be a problem, but your second phone has a problem after a year, so we conclude that the problem exists, it will only happen sooner or later. Only the Pixel 8 has no problem with the Samsung LCD, and there is not a single example of it in my country. Thank you, dear friend. I completely gave up on buying it. Although I don't like the Pixel 8a, I might have bought it.
2k, 07 Sep 2025decent phone, however the pixel 8 does not have the immortalis gpu. it has a mali.According to GSMArena specs above, the Pixel 8 uses an ARM Immortalis-G715s MC10 GPU as part of its Tensor G3 chipset. So it is capable of hardware-accelerated features like ray tracing, which can enhance the visual quality in high-setting games and videos. The phone does get warm after a while when pushed to its limit.

Pixel 8 was a great phone when released in 2023. Still a joy to use in 2025. Recently updated to Android 16 QPR1. Google keeping it secure and fresh with Material 3 Expressive redesign. Looking forward to future updates and holding on to this little workhorse of a phone for a several more years.

I've been using the Pixel 8 since early 2024 and it's been flawless. It literally does everything well. The screen and the cameras are especially good, as well as its overall snappiness.
The only thing I hate about it is the gloss back which is a fingerprint magnet and it's very slippery.
I've had it slide and fall from one of those metal garden tables and the table was canted by literally just 1 degree.
Other than that it's a quick little beast.
I've had some great phones over the years and this one is right up there, fighting for the top spot with my old Xperia Z3 I had years ago.
my three month old pixel 8, is getting warm, when i'm using the google chrome app after 15 minutes usage. what to do, someone having a great idea to fix this issue, thanks.
weasels866, 06 Jul 2025ip68 offers no protection against salt water as it's too corrosiveAs I said IP68 deals with water. I think it should be better, if salty, in terms of ingress. Or not?
